Water Drop Icon

Introduction:
In this tutorial, we'll learn to create a tear drop icon to use in your graphic or web design projects. This is a great graphic to use for water related websites or graphic design projects that require water drops that are stylized.

Step-By-Step:

1. Open a new document in photoshop. Set width/height to 250x250.
2. Create a new layer and name it "Water Drop".
3. Select the Custom Shape tool. Then select the Rain Drop graphic from the Shapes dropdown.

4. Choose a light blue as your foreground color.
5. Hold down the Shift key and drag to draw the water drop shape onto the Water Drop layer.

6. Create a new layer and name it "Gloss 1".
7. Choose white as your foreground color.
8. Hold down the Shift key and drag to draw the "white" water drop gloss shape directly over the underlying blue water drop shape.

9. With "Gloss 1" layer active, goto Layer > Duplicate Layer... and click OK to create a duplicate of the "Gloss 1" layer.
10. Rename this new layer above "Gloss 2". 11. Click the Eye on the "Gloss 1" layer so it is no longer visible.
12. Make sure "Gloss 2" layer is active.
13. Select the Eliptical Marquee tool and drag a circular selection over the right side. Then click the Delete key.

14. Set the opacity for the "Gloss 2" layer to 60%.

15. Select the "Gloss 1" layer so that it is active.
16. Click the Eye icon on the "Gloss 1" layer so that it is visible again.
17. Select the Eliptical Marquee tool and drag a circular selection over the bottom right side. Then click the Delete key.

18. Set the opacity for the "Gloss 1" layer to 30%.

19. Double click the "Water Drop" layer to bring up its Layer Style properties.
20. Select "Drop Shadow" and change the properties to the following:

21. Select "Inner Shadow" and change the properties to the following:

22. Select "Stroke" and change the properties to the following:

23. Click OK to accept the changes to the Layer Style properties and you should now have your completed Water Drop Icon.
